The Culture Scouts team had a great day taking Lizzy Lovette and the Channel 7 film crew around Newtown and Surry Hills for Sydney Weekender!

Around Newtown, we explored the many laneways decked with street art, meeting up with Camo while he was finishing off one of his stencil works. We stopped at Black Star Pastry where Chris Thé taught us all about the origins of his famous Watermelon and Strawberry cake!

In Surry Hills we featured the renowned public art commission by Reko Rennie, Always Was, Always Will Be, where we spoke about its Indigenous roots and future possibilities. Our last stop on the tour was to Hay Design on Crown Street. The Sydney Weekender crew loved their beautifully minimal home decor.
